Section through a coreless induction furnace lining, coil side to melt. The sintered face forms during the first firing; the loose grain behind it takes up expansion and keeps cracks from running back toward the coil. Stylised, not to scale.

Your floor

01

Reline

Old lining out. Former in. The dry mix goes in around it and is vibrated down, bag by bag.

02

First firing

The controlled first heat sinters the face against the former. Behind it, the grain stays loose.

03

Charge

Scrap in.

04

Melt

The coil does the work. The lining holds it.

05

Tap

Furnace over, ladle full.

06

Next heat

Back upright. The lining is intact, and ready to go again.

Stylised. Your process, in section. The lining is the part in orange.

From enquiry to first firing

How an order runs.

  1. Tell us the furnace

Furnace size, the metal you melt, the grade you run now and what the lining is giving you.

  2. Grade selected with you

We confirm the grade against your metal and working temperature, and quote straight.

  3. Supply ex-Alberton

Mixed and checked at our own works. Collection ex-works, or delivery by arrangement.

  4. Install talked through

Before the bags arrive we talk through the installation with the people doing it.

  5. First firing on your floor

The sintered face forms during your start-up firing. We answer the phone when it matters.

Why foundries stay

The lining is the smallest line on a melt shop budget. Until it fails.

A lining failure stops the whole foundry. That is why our customers buy on spec and service, not price. We know the grades, we know the furnaces they go into, and we answer the phone.

  • Manufacturer, not a reseller. HF series mixes are produced and checked at our own Alberton works.
  • Decades of lining experience behind every grade recommendation.
  • Specified into steel foundries, mineral processing OEMs and casting operations across South Africa.
  • Collection ex-Alberton or delivery by arrangement.
